quare Enix just announced that the launch of the long awaited RPG will be delayed. The new release date is almost two months of the target released date. There have been several reports that the game will be delayed and now it is official. The new launch date for Final Fantasy XV is on November 29. This is two months of the previous date September 20.

Square Enix released a statement stating that new date will allow the development teams more time to polish the game and to “conduct quality testing so that the reality of the game can match the expectations of both the fans and the creative teams.”

Hajime Tabata, Final Fantasy XV game director also added that the moment when his team joined the project, their vision is to create a level of freedom and realism that were never seen or present in the previous Final Fantasy titles hence the time to deliver their vision of the game will be extended. The extended date will definitely help the team achieve whatever they want.”

“As the director and lead of this project, I wish to personally apologize for the additional wait. As a team, we want Final Fantasy XV to achieve a level of perfection that our fans deserve. We kindly ask for your understanding.”

Tabata explained in the Final Fantasy XV channel in YouTube that the Final Fantasy XV team is done working on a so-called “master version” of Final Fantasy XV. They are now currently working on a day-one patch. Also in the video, Tabata is confident in his feelings that the contents of the patch are shipped together with the final game. There is no need for the batch to applied on the game as a downloadable update. This is also the reason why they prefer to send out the game in a much later date. Several games have had day one patch that is massive in size and hampers the experience of those people who just want to play the game immediately.

The disc release of both Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV and Brotherhood Final Fantasy XV will be updated at a later time and is more than expected to be delayed. Final Fantasy XV will be released on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One platforms and there are no hints of a PC release.
