Rainbow Six Siege Poised to Release Huge Update: Details
Rainbow Six Siege will release another big expansion next week. Ubisoft already shared some details for new tweaks, content, and gameplay additions of one of the more tactical based first-person shooter released in recent memory.
Operation Skull Rain will add two Operators and a map just like the previous expansion Dust Line. The map will put players in a Brazilian favela. Ubisoft promises that the new map is the most destructible map to date.
The two operators to be added in the game come from Brazil’s own. These operators are inspired by the BOPE (Batalhão de Operações Policiais Especiais) a special police unit of Brazil. The defense operator Caviera wields M12 or SPAS-15 as a primary weapon. Its secondary weapon is the PRB92 and players can choose between a C4 or barbed wire for its miscellaneous equipment. The special skill this character possess is the Silent Step. Silent Steps allows the operator to sneak up behind an enemy and then immobilize them. And the most surprising at all, the Caveria can get the location of all the other members of the opposing team. The offense operator is the Capitão, which specializes on using a crossbow that has asphyxiating bolts that burn oxygen within a certain radius. This is also known as a micro smoke grenade.
Other additions in the game is the Skull Rain angled grip attachment. It allows less time for the gun to switch from hip fire to iron sight shooting. There will be a surrender system that should allow ranked matches to end early. This is done by team voting for one before the third round. There is also a new custom mode called Tactical Realism. In this mode, minimalism is achieved by removing all the kill or scoring notifications, doing away of the HUD elements, and employing more realistic magazine management.
Skull Rain will be released come August 2 on the platforms where the game appears—PC, Xbox One, and the PlayStation 4. Just like the previous DLC, the map will be free to use right away. Those with the season pass can get access to the new operators for a week. The new operators are exclusive for season pass purchasers for a week. After that period, the new operators can be unlocked by purchasing them with the in-game currency. Like the previous two new operators, their price point should be step but nevertheless not difficult to reach.
